The show now in its fourth year runs at the Novotel Hammersmith in west London on May 1. It has presentations and workshops covering what the organisers term traditional retail fraud theme, and emerging technology to combat retail fraud and deal with loss prevention, besides covering physical security track and CNP (card not present) and identity fraud.
You can hear from a convicted former fraudster and a provider of ID check Card-Not-Present fraud solutions. 192.com Business Services will be delivering a keynote presentation at Retail Fraud 07 to help retailers better understand how the fraudster works and how retailers can best defend against the fraudster. MD of 192.com, Keith Marsden will introduce the identity check technologies including real-time verification of customer name, address, date of birth, telephone number and IP address.
192.com will then introduce Martin Gill, Prof of Criminology at Leicester University and a consultant on identity theft related crime. Martin will take the stage with T, a convicted (ex) fraudster who was jailed for various fraud-related convictions. In this interview T will provide the retail audience with an insight into the fraudster’s psyche, fraudster’s methodologies and how fraudsters go about their business.
