January 2015

by Mark Rowe

New year, new you and new gossip from the team at IFSEC International.

It’s full steam ahead to the show in June; the floor plan is 95 per cent sold and registration is now open, all before anyone’s January gym routine has even had a chance to lapse. News hot off the press is that the Siemens Security business has returned to IFSEC. Recently acquired by Vanderbilt Industries, Siemens will be showcasing their full range of access control, video surveillance and intruder products. Further updates on their plans for the show will be announced in due course, so watch this space.

IFSEC is known for showcasing the latest products to market and having demonstrations of all the new kit available. Innovation is going to be key a theme that runs through IFSEC and the shows that run alongside it in the Protection & Management Series. We’ve heard rumblings of live testing sessions, uncovering some of the lesser known (but cutting edge) technologies and presenting it all in one grand arena, keep your eye out for more information.

As well as looking at what future technologies are available, it’s important to support the next generation coming into the security industry. IFSEC will once again be running the Engineers of Tomorrow competition where apprentices battle it out to install a security system the most accurately in the fastest time. Businesses are encouraged to enter their apprentices for a chance to win this competition to nurture talent.

We all know it’s important to plan time wisely at an event as large as IFSEC which is why it’s good to hear that the UK Trade and Industry (UKTI) will be back to the show floor in a bigger way. Always helpful to book meetings with qualified visitors from across the world and securing meetings in advance of getting to the show floor.

And as promised, four VIP tickets to IFSEC International are available to win! Getting you exclusive access to the VIP lounge, you can enjoy a complimentary lunch and have a refreshing beer during the happy hour! Enter here using www.ifsec.co.uk/profsec.
