Role: BIM / CAD Technician
Location: London
Salary: £38,000 to £44,000 per annum

Are you looking for a BIM / CAD Technician role based in the City of London? As a BIM / CAD Technician, you’ll be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and intelligent models across structured cabling, security systems, Wi-Fi heatmapping, and AV design. You’ll be working for a specialist technology and infrastructure business delivering integrated solutions across commercial and residential projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven technician with strong BIM and CAD experience to play a key role in delivering compliant, high-quality designs across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop and coordinate 3D models, 2D drawings, and COBie outputs using Revit
  • Design structured cabling systems and cable containment pathways
  • Produce layouts for CCTV, access control, and wider security systems
  • Integrate audio-visual systems into coordinated project designs
  • Carry out clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination
  • Create Wi-Fi heatmaps and CCTV field-of-view designs using specialist software
  • Measure pre-terminated cable lengths using Rapid Deployment software
  • Support bids, small works, and project delivery with accurate technical input
  • Maintain and update BIM and CAD documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, building regulations, and safety requirements

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a BIM / CAD Technician role
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience designing structured cabling and ICT infrastructure
  • Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and AV system design
  • Experience producing Wi-Fi heatmaps and network layouts
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams
