Role: Emergency Lighting Engineer
Location: London & Southeast
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum
Are you an experienced Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Engineer covering London and the South-East, looking for a long-term role where you can genuinely influence business growth? As a Fire Alarm / Emergency Lighting Engineer, you’ll be working across servicing, fault-finding, installations and commissioning, while also supporting fire extinguisher works when required. You’ll be joining an established Fire Safety provider with a strong and growing client base across commercial sites.
Responsibilities:
- Installation of fire alarm systems independently
- Servicing, fault-finding, and maintenance of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
- Working on both addressable and conventional fire alarm control panels
- Diagnosing and rectifying earth faults, open circuits,s and short circuits
- Installation and maintenance of emergency lighting systems (preferred)
- Assisting with fire extinguisher installations, servicing, surveys,s and quotations as required
- Working closely with management to support operational delivery and business growth
- Occasional overnight stays near installation sites when required
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in fire alarm servicing, fault repairs and installations
- Strong working knowledge of BS 5839 standards
- Experience working on systems including Advanced, Morley, Kentec, Haes, Gent, EMS and Notifier
- Ability to service, fault-find, install small works and commission detection systems
- Competence in portable fire extinguisher servicing
- FIA, FETA or equivalent qualifications (preferred)
- Electrical qualifications are beneficial for emergency lighting and fused spur installations
- Full UK driving licence and strong communication skills
