Role: Fire Alarm Design Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum
Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Design Engineer based in London looking for an opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end fire and security system design? This role offers the chance to work on complex estates, delivering compliant and technically robust solutions for a leading smart-building infrastructure provider.
Responsibilities:
● Develop compliant designs for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, PA/VA, Aspirating systems, Disabled Refuge Systems, Access Control, CCTV, and Intruder Alarms.
● Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support pricing, planning, and delivery.
● Manage the design approval process, ensuring alignment with scope, standards, and statutory requirements.
● Own designs from initial concept through to completion and final handover documentation.
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of client procedures and ensure designs adhere accordingly.
● Follow contract administration processes, including the creation and management of Technical Queries (TQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
● Compile and prepare complete Operations & Maintenance (O&M) documentation throughout project life cycle.
Experience and Certifications Required:
● Extensive experience designing fire systems, including Fire Detection and Alarm, PA/VA, Aspirating, and Disabled Refuge Systems.
● Strong knowledge of industry standards and fire-safety regulations.
● Ability to produce detailed BOMs and technical design packs.
● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
● Experience working with TQs, RFIs, and contract administration processes.
