Role: Fire Area Supervisor
Location: Newport
Salary: £36,000 – £39,000 per annum
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Fire Area Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, testing, and installation of fire safety systems across a defined region. You will lead a team of engineers, manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain high standards of safety, customer service, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:

Supervise, coordinate, and mentor a team of fire alarm engineers and technicians

Allocate work to ensure timely delivery of PPM, call-outs, remedial works, and installations

Conduct quality audits, inspections, and toolbox talks to maintain high service standards

Provide technical support for fault-finding, installations, and client queries

Liaise with clients, property managers, and site contacts to manage expectations and resolve issues

Monitor engineer performance and produce regular operational reports

Oversee site health & safety, ensuring PPE and RAMS are adhered to

Support training, onboarding, and continuous development of engineering staff

Respond to emergency call-outs and manage escalations as needed

Ensure all compliance documentation, certification, and logs are correctly completed and stored
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience supervising or leading fire alarm engineers
- In-depth technical knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and fire safety devices
- Familiar with major fire alarm panel brands (e.g. Advanced, Kentec, Morley, C-Tec, Apollo, Hochiki)
- Ability to conduct site audits, quality checks, and assess risk
- Excellent leadership, team coordination, and communication skills
- Strong organisational ability and the confidence to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites
- Competent in using IT for scheduling, reporting, and compliance tracking
