Role: Fire & Security Design Engineer
Location: Midlands

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum

Are you a Fire & Security Design Engineer based in the Midlands, or looking to step into a design-focused role with clear progression? As a Fire & Security Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing compliant designs across Fire and Security systems, supporting projects from concept through to installation and handover. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking Fire & Security provider with multiple projects launching in the new year.

Responsibilities:

  • Producing compliant designs, drawings and documentation for Fire & Security systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarms
  • Conducting site surveys and attending client briefings to gather design requirements
  • Creating detailed layouts and schematics using CAD or similar design software
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards and NSI / BSIA codes of practice
  • Supporting project delivery through installation, commissioning and handover stages
  • Revising designs in line with site changes and client feedback
  • Keeping up to date with industry regulations, standards and new technologies

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Proven design experience within electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder)
  • Basic understanding or exposure to fire alarm systems, with a willingness to develop further
  • Knowledge of BS 5839, BS EN 50132 and related industry standards
  • Competence using CAD and design documentation tools
  • Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend sites
