Fire Service Engineer – Fire Safety Systems

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £38,000.00 plus overtime, standby, and travel time

Our client, a leading UK fire safety company, is looking for an experienced Fire Service Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh. This is a great opportunity to advance your career within a company that values high-quality service and its employees.

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of crucial fire safety systems. You will ensure that fire detection, alarm, and gas suppression systems are fully operational, compliant with British Standards, and meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain fire detection, alarm, and gas suppression systems.

  • Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance to British Standards.

  • Commission additional devices and support project and sales teams.

  • Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota for emergencies.

  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and complete all documentation.

  • Adhere to all company health, safety, and quality procedures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the fire industry.

  • Proven technical knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems.

  • Experience with both addressable and conventional fire systems.

  • A thorough understanding of relevant British Standards (BAFE SP201/SP203).

  • An electrical background and a valid ECS/CSCS card.

  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong customer service skills and a full UK driving licence.

  • Knowledge of GENT, Advanced, Morley, or Notifier systems is desirable.

  • FIA qualifications (Units 1, 4 & 5) are highly desirable.
