Role: Head of Mechanical
Location: Midlands
Salary: £80,000–£90,000 per annum
Are you an experienced mechanical fire safety leader based in the Midlands, ready to take ownership of a national division? As Head of Mechanical, you will lead and grow an established Mechanical Division specialising in sprinklers, wet and dry risers, fire pumps and smoke ventilation systems. You will be working for a leading UK fire safety company delivering fully integrated, compliance-first solutions across fire, electrical and security disciplines.
Responsibilities:
● Lead and develop the established Mechanical Division, overseeing automatic sprinklers, risers, pumps and pressurisation systems
● Oversee end-to-end delivery of mechanical fire projects, including installation, testing and maintenance
● Secure new fire safety contracts across retail, commercial, industrial and public sector clients
● Collaborate with fire, sprinkler and electrical teams to deliver integrated mechanical solutions
● Strengthen long-term client relationships through proactive compliance and risk management
● Drive tenders, estimating and strategic growth to expand services nationally
● Ensure full compliance with fire regulations, accreditations and safety standards
Experience and Certifications Required:
● A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior mechanical fire safety role
● Proven expertise in sprinklers, fire pumps, risers, HVAC smoke control or fire-rated systems
● Demonstrable leadership experience managing fire projects and scaling mechanical teams
● Strong commercial background with experience winning and retaining compliance-driven contracts
● Track record as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or senior mechanical fire safety leader
