Lift Service Engineer | Channel Islands (Jersey & Guernsey) | Permanent | Full-Time | Relocation Package Offered

Join a dedicated team of service engineers covering Jersey and Guernsey, carrying out essential lift maintenance and repair work across a wide range of sites including hospitals, hotels, residential, and government buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Lift Servicing & Repairs:
    Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis on various types of lifts and associated equipment in line with manufacturers’ specifications and safety standards.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Support:
    Support additional company divisions with installation and servicing of stair lifts, ceiling-mounted hoists, and automatic door operators.

  • Standby Rota Participation:
    Participate in a 24-hour on-call rota (1 in 4) including some Bank Holidays. Standby pay is £231 per rota week plus overtime rates for call-outs.

  • Island Travel Flexibility:
    Be available to travel between the Channel Islands (by air or sea) as operational needs require.

  • Administrative Tasks:
    Accurately log work using electronic devices, manage digital calendars, complete timesheets, and maintain work schedules.

Requirements:

  • Qualified & Experienced:
    NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) preferred, with a background in a recognised lift engineering training scheme.

  • Technical Proficiency:
    Competence in diagnosing faults, reading circuit diagrams, using test equipment, and repairing electronic control systems and hydraulic components.

  • Multi-Speed Control Systems:
    Ability to maintain and repair single and multi-speed lift controls across a variety of manufacturer types.

  • Self-Sufficiency & Reliability:
    Capable of working independently, especially during on-call duties.

  • Professional Communication:
    Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

  • Licence Requirement:
    A full, valid driving licence is required.

Role Details:

  • Hours: 8am – 4pm (occasional work on home lifts, goods lifts, and dumb waiters)

  • Standby: 1 in 4 rota (£231 standby pay + OT rates for call-outs)

  • Relocation: Assistance offered – candidates must research suitable housing options.
