Multi-Skilled Fire & Security Engineer – North West
Location: Manchester / Stockport / Wythenshaw

We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team, covering Manchester and the surrounding areas including Warrington and Stockport. This role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs across a range of commercial and retail premises.

You will be responsible for the installation support, servicing, testing, fault diagnosis, and repair of fire and security systems, ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and fully compliant with current British Standards and industry regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, test, and fault-find fire alarm systems in accordance with BS5839

  • Carry out maintenance and fault diagnosis on security systems, including:

    • Intruder alarms

    • CCTV systems

    • Access control systems

  • Respond to reactive call-outs and complete remedial works efficiently

  • Accurately complete service reports, certificates, and documentation

  • Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts, and internal teams

  • Ensure all works comply with relevant British Standards, health & safety regulations, and company procedures

  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle in good working order

  • Identify additional works or system improvements and report to management where appropriate


Systems & Standards:

  • Fire alarms (conventional and addressable)

  • Intruder alarms

  • CCTV (analogue and IP)

  • Access control

  • Compliance with BS5839 and related British Standards


Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Fire & Security Engineer

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across fire and security systems

  • Sound knowledge of compliance and British Standards

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Full UK driving licence
