Role: Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer
Location: East Anglia
Salary: £40,000 to £43,000 per annum
Are you a Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer based in the East of England looking for your next challenge? As a Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning complex fire detection and alarm systems while supporting engineering teams across the business. You’ll be working for a well-established fire and security organisation delivering high-quality life safety solutions across East Anglia and surrounding areas.
This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced fire commissioning professional who understands regulations, advanced cause and effect logic, and takes pride in delivering systems to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Commission conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems to a high standard
- Commission fire systems in line with BS5839-1 and Part 6
- Diagnose and rectify complex commissioning-stage faults and issues
- Work with advanced cause and effect logic
- Complete commissioning certificates, test results and handover documentation
- Support system demonstrations, client training and final handover
- Provide ongoing training and technical support to engineering teams
- Assist with modifications, remedial and service work when required
- Carry out small works installation across life safety systems
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security and information protection policies
- Understand client requirements and deliver work to specification
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ senior commissioning experience on fire systems
- Strong background in fire and security engineering
- Proven experience commissioning conventional and addressable systems across multiple manufacturers
- Full understanding of BS5839-1
- Excellent fault-finding, first-time resolution and risk management skills
- Experience working on large-scale fire systems
- GENT and advanced fire alarm systems knowledge
- FIA commissioning accreditations
- Microsoft Office literate
- Full UK driving licence
