Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Guernsey, Jersey or Isle of Man
Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 per annum
Are you a Senior Infrastructure Engineer based in Guernsey, Jersey, or the Isle of Man looking to take ownership of enterprise-level cloud platforms? As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud Services, you will design, build, and operate secure, scalable multi-tenant cloud environments from high-level architecture through to hands-on delivery and operational support. You will be working for a forward-thinking technology organisation delivering enterprise cloud and infrastructure solutions across private and hybrid environments.
Responsibilities:
● Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure across multiple virtualisation platforms
● Manage and optimise compute, storage, and networking environments
● Provide specialist third-line support and resolve complex technical issues
● Lead backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions (including Veeam and Zerto)
● Work with cloud security controls, identity services, certificates, and performance monitoring
● Support pre-sales and solution design for new customer deployments
● Mentor engineers, document best practice and contribute to service improvements
● Participate in an on-call rota providing out-of-hours support
Experience and Certifications Required:
● A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior infrastructure or systems engineering role
● Strong expertise across virtualisation, storage, networking, and security technologies
● Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud platforms (VMware, Nutanix AHV, HPE VME, KVM-based platforms, Azure Hub)
● Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management solutions
● Professional certifications such as VCP, MCSE, CCNP, or equivalent preferred
● Confident communicator able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
