Training For Success and Skills for Security report the launch of what they call a blended solution for the Community Safety for Accredited Persons programme, awarded by Edexcel.

The new qualification is designed to provide education and training for those in the security and safety industry who wish to become accredited persons. This award will ensure that an individual’s training underpins the role that accredited persons play within the extended police family. The intention is to allow ‘accredited persons’ to address some lower level anti-social behaviours and community safety issues such as graffiti, dropping litter and consumption of alcohol in designated public places.

David Greer, Chief Executive of Skills for Security said: "The importance of community safety is continually growing and equally the importance of the job roles of those working within this area. Skills for Security is proud to have worked with ACPO to provide safer and securer environments through the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and are pleased that Training For Success offers a cost effective and efficient means of ensuring that accredited persons will develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills so that they can play an important part in creating safer communities and reducing the fear of crime."

Ian Kirke, Managing Director from Training For Success said: "This award underpins the vital role that accredited persons play within the extended police family. Its practical approach and flexible learning opportunities offer a significant return on investment, especially since prior SIA learning is recognised. The blended learning solution, which engages with distance learning materials significantly reduces the time away from the workplace. Already in use by a number of public and private organisations, enforcement staff at the London borough recently celebrated a 100pc pass rate and Waitrose Supermarkets have recently procured the solution for their in house security officers."

The scheme is available for £302.50 plus vat, per delegate (or £252.50 plus vat per delegate if they are exempt from the conflict resolution). An additional examination fee of £47.50 plus vat per delegate is also applicable.
