Alarm Add

by msecadm4921

RSI Video Technologies, developer of the Videofied Wireless Alarm System, have launched a new range of control panels. It brings the price of video alarms significantly closer to conventional alarm systems and provides some new features, according to the company.

The Videofied system incorporates a video camera within the PIR that starts recording when the PIR is triggered. The resulting 10 second video clip is sent wirelessly to the monitoring station via a GPRS link, providing the operator with instant video verification. The entire process is wirefree with no mains power required (battery life up to 4 years), and the system is integrated with UK monitoring stations including SMS/NMS, EMCS, RVR/Custodian, and Alert Services.
Gary Frith, RSI’s UK Country Manager said: “We have responded to the current economic climate by bringing out our new X series of panels that provide video alarm security at a more affordable price. The Videofied system keeps costly false alarms to an absolute minimum, whilst encouraging a fast response when a genuine crime in progress is detected.”
The new XT panel can be used as the basis for a standalone system or can be linked to an existing alarm panel for a video upgrade, thus providing additional protection for the end user in vulnerable areas. The XT panel also has programmable inputs which allow other devices such as panic buttons to be linked to a specific PIR camera for video verification. In upgrade mode the panel can also used to provide a GPRS back up for a conventional PSTN system.
A new XV panel has also been launched that incorporates two-way voice through deported speakers/microphones, thus providing both audio and video verification.
RSI are encouraging installers to use Videofied to grow sales by offering customers an upgrade to an existing system or an upsell from a conventional system for a new installation. They are also marketing Videofied as a cost effective solution to installers looking to enter new niche markets such as construction site security, vacant property protection, and temporary security. More information and UK contact details are available through the RSI website:
