Alarm Call Launch

by Msecadm4921

ADT have launched a new alarm call system for vulnerable staff.

A new alarm call system that could help protect staff against violence in the workplace across the UK has been launched by ADT Fire and Security. ADT developed its Staff Attack Systems to provide peace of mind for those working in sometimes hostile environments. People employed in the public service industry such as nurses, air stewards, shop assistants and night club staff are exposed to the risk of violence. Where staff may feel threatened, Staff Attack Systems will allow them to alert others to their assistance at the touch of a button. A built-in LED turns red when a call is made to reassure the user that the alarm has been raised. A simple, easy to use hand held transmitter can be kept discreetly by the employee that has two call levels of alarm – assistance and emergency. A signal is sent through locally sited ceiling sensors. These sensors are unobtrusive and do not generally require that the transmitter to be aimed directly at the victim. This signal will display the location and time of an incident, ensuring a swift response. Or, the user may raise the higher level of alarm by tugging the unit away from its holder. When the transmitter is set to ‘assistance mode’, and the user proceeds to move around the building, the system will continue to track them until he/she is found.
Totally programmable
Staff Attack Systems are totally programmable to suit the business’ individual needs. Personalised text defining a sensor’s location can be chosen by the customer which can reduce the time taken to locate the victim. Portable pagers are available should the information need to be transmitted to other members of staff, which is easily done via a simple interface. See www.adt.co.uk.
