Aluminium extruders, Hydro Aluminium Extrusion (HAE) are involved in an ongoing project to supply aluminium extrusions to the Automatic and Security Door Division of Kaba Door Systems Ltd. That division specialises in the manufacture of automatic door systems for pedestrian access and produces a wide range of revolving, sliding, folding and swing doors. Extrusions from HAE have been incorporated into the frames of the doors. Hydro?s aluminium was chosen because it is strong, durable and relatively lightweight, which are particularly significant features in the manufacture of automatic doors. Automatic door systems are often fitted at busy entrances to control the large volumes of pedestrian traffic and are heavily used. Failure of the door system and the need for repair could result in disruption. Kaba?s doors can be fitted anywhere a safe automatic entrance is needed. All of their doors meet the special requirement to provide access for disabled people under the Disabilities and Discrimination Act. Kaba also ensures that its door users, particularly children, are not vulnerable to dangerous finger trapping situations and tries to overcome this with suitable sensors or barriers.
