Army Leaver Careers Day

by msecadm4921

Soldiers about to leave the Army remain a regular and known source of staff for the private security industry; hence the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is planning a security industry awareness event

The time and place are Friday, March 18 at Regional Resettlement Centre (Plymouth) MOD Mount Wise, Plymouth PL1 4JH.

The Regional Resettlement Centre reports that it plans to arrange a programme of presentations throughout the year aimed at providing details about a variety of specific industry sectors. Service leavers may be eligible to apply for training or short to medium term placements with possible future employers.

Who is there

The companies supporting the Plymouth event include Phoenix CP (working in close protection); Tavcom Training (trainers in CCTV and other security skills); CableNet (data-communications and IT security); REACT (aviation security); the International School For Search and Explosives Engineers (mine clearance and EOD industry); TASK International (close protection); EPA (security recruitment organisation); Military Provost Guard Service (Ministry of Defence base security); AAJ Locksmiths (midday until 12.30 only; a chance to meet a self-employed locksmith); BISIO Legal & Development (investigative services); and Securewest (based in Devon, offering shipping security). For more details, ring Mick Mullarkey, Information and Resource Centre Co-ordinator at CTP in Plymouth on 01752 553376.
