The CSO Roundtable, an ASIS International invitation-only group of top security executives from the world’s largest companies, is adding access to iThreat’s Global Intelligence Monitor (GIM) to what’s available to its members.
ASIS, the US-based security management body, launched the CSO Roundtable in 2004 to give chief security officers a stronger voice in business and public policy.
CSO Roundtable benefits include a password-protected Web site containing policies and procedures, metrics, articles and other knowledge items; CSO-specific news; a private-messaging function; and free resources and tools provided by partners.
"As companies and their security departments find themselves being squeezed by financial pressures, these new resources are welcome additions to the ever-growing list of CSO Roundtable benefits," said Don W Walker, CPP, chairman of Securitas USA and co-chair of the CSO Roundtable Advisory Board. "With these tools, CSOs will be better informed and prepared for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges, all without taxing their tight budgets."
GIM, a real-time Web-based system (www.ithreat.com), is a one-stop dashboard that allows companies to set parameters so they may view threats specific to them on a constantly updated world map. By inputting facility locations and key words and names (say, the names of executives or products), users can track threats to their enterprises in real time, along with analysis for context. By going to the CSO Web site, companies that are not currently clients of iThreat can sign up for special access to real-time threat information, free of charge.
The CSO Roundtable is also offering gratis access to select articles and analyses by London-based intelligence firm Menas. Menas publishes more than 20 specialist electronic monthly or quarterly reports on several countries and regions, such as Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, North Korea, South Korea and the Caspian region. These pieces report on current developments, identify trends, track key political phenomena and offer longer-term assessments of the forces influencing business operating environment stability. The CSO Roundtable will post key articles from Menas to its site on a regular basis.
These new resources will be on display in the CSO Roundtable Lounge during the ASIS International 55th Annual Seminar and Exhibits in Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 21-24. Both Roundtable members and those eligible for membership are invited to the lounge.
