CNI 2009: Protecting Critical Infrastructure in a Changing World.

Visit www.rusi.org/CNI09  for RUSI’s latest Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) conference programme.
 
Supported this year by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), the Home Office, Cabinet Office and the Energy Networks Association, CNI 2009 will hear keynote addresses from Lord West and the new Director of CPNI on the changing infrastructure and threats for which the UK is preparing.
 
The 2009 programme will feature:
 
*Representatives from the US Department of Homeland Security outlining critical infrastructure priorities under President Obama.
*Dick Heimans from the European Commission discussing his work leading the EU’s new European Programme for Critical Infrastructure Protection.
*Thinking about the new dependencies and vulnerabilities of our evolving society, the Government’s Deputy Chief Information Officer will be presenting to CNI2009 its vision for transformational government.
*From the UK’s Department for Transport, TRANSEC Director Niki Thompkinson will address future strategies for transport security.  
*Business leaders from BT, Cable and Wireless, BP, SERCO and G4S will be discussing the role they envisage for their companies in securing the assets and networks most important to the future UK economy.
*The Civil Contingencies Secretariat will be talking about the new work on which they are embarking with local resilience teams and infrastructure operators.
*Speakers from Oxford University, the Government’s new Department for the Environment and Climate Change (DECC) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) will provide insights into the particular challenges of energy, securing its supply and protecting its infrastructure.
