The Zoological Society of London, best known as London Zoo, has signed a one-year manned guarding contract with OCS Security Services. The contract, which totals up to 156 hours a week, entails guarding at the zoo main gates, regular patrols and checks of animals and the premises seven days a week. Brian Nutkins, Security and Safety Manager at the Zoological Society of London, said: ?One of the deciding factors is their multi-service capability. Not only are they able to provide security but we are also using their cleaning services division, part of the OCS group. The service contract manager visits us twice a week which means there is always communication between us and the firm. This is good for addressing any complaints or issues that either party may have almost immediately; or they are dealt with at our monthly review meetings.? Dee Shiels, Business Development Manager at Security Services, said: ?Winning the contract for the Zoological Society of London has really given us a sense of achievement. Communication plays a vital role in the service we provide. Our weekly on-site visits and monthly review meeting gives us a chance to see our staff in action and evaluate the service we are providing. Its also sets the forum to discuss any concerns the customer may have.?
