Merseyside Police were on March 10 called to North John Street in Liverpool City Centre to ensure control of a crowd that has gathered outside the Hard Days Night Hotel.
North John Street was closed to traffic and police urged the public to to avoid the area if possible.<br><br>Officers were last night working with the management of the hotel and with Justin Bieber’s security team to ensure his safety, the safety of other guests and of the crowd.
The general manager of the hotel said afterwards: "As has been widely reported in the press, Justin Bieber arrived at the Hard Days Night Hotel in the early hours of Thursday morning in preparation for his performance at the ECHO arena on Friday.
โSubstantial crowds began to gather outside the entrance of the hotel on North John Street and at the side entrances on Harrington Street and Mathew Street around midday. Due to the volume of crowds we felt it was necessary to alert Merseyside Police and work closely with them to ensure the safety and security of the public, the hotel, and its guests.
โThere has been no damage to the hotel and no official complaints have been received from guests in residence. Most guests are enjoying the excitement and have found the incident amusing. Every effort is still being made to ensure guests experience minimal disruption to their stay.
โWe temporarily suspended all new bookings for yesterday evening and limited entrance to the hotel to guests only. This was for the safety and security of the hotel and its guests.
โThe hotelโs policy is to protect the privacy of all guests. Unfortunately the arrival of some photographers sparked interest from the public and attention grew from there.
โWe are flattered that Justin and his management team chose to stay at the Hard Days Night and hope he enjoyed his visit to Liverpool.โ
