Biometrics On Stand

by Msecadm4921

Panasonic report that biometrics will feature strongly on their IFSEC stand.

Panasonic are showcasing their latest developments in iris recognition technology including cameras for desktop and laptop security plus access control systems. Panasonic?s BM-ET100US Authenticam, is an iris recognition camera for desktop and laptop security. The Authenticam with Iridian?s PrivateID software, can provide a way to ensure data access security and can minimise fraudulent activities in cyber communities, the makers report. Also on show will be Panasonic?s iris recognition access control system. This identification system is suitable for financial institutions, offices or laboratories, traffic control centres, airports or prisons, Panasonic say. Also new is the KX-HCM10 Network Camera. This network camera enables the user to view other rooms in their home or office whether they are in the same or a different building. With built in web server, control software and e-mail software, the camera can be plugged into an ethernet network and controlled from a PC using a standard web browser. Panasonic?s Matrix System 850 will also be featured. That product?s scalable, high density modular architecture allows users to design systems of various sizes up to 8,192 video inputs, 1,024 video outputs and 128 system controllers and space-saving installation, say Panasonic. Other new products on display will be Panasonic?s digital recording range, including a new eight-way digital 120 GB hard disk recorder, plus some new vandal and weather resistant dome cameras.
