Emergency locksmiths were called out to a former secret bunker in Scotland after a break-in.
The site – 24,000 square feet of underground accommodation on two levels – was built as part of Cold War preparations in the 1950s. The local Dyno-Locks franchisee for Fife and Dundee, Alan Tulleth, undertook the project which included fitting a master key suite. He said: “During the break-in someone locked themselves in the bunker and trashed a great deal of equipment including CCTV. I had been the regular locksmith for the last four years and had installed a complete master key suite during this time. After the break-in, the master key had been mislaid and the owner insisted that all the locks should be replaced. I was involved in fitting 100 units which included padlocks and rim cylinders.”
