CCTV manufacturer Silent Witness has released Digital Chaperone – a digital recording system designed for student and driver safety on school buses. The Digital Chaperone system is comprised of the MDR100 mobile
digital recorder and the customer’s choice of Silent Witness cameras. Thanks to its suspension system, the recorder writes to a hard drive, the makers report. Digital Chaperone provides school bus operators with image retrieval, printing, distributing and archiving. Digital Chaperone comes with a built-in camera switcher which accepts video signals from two sources – a camera inside the bus which captures potential problems as they happen and another camera which records drivers who ignore the extended Stop Arm.
