From the August print magazine.
Buxton and High Peak Security Services, approached the Enterprise Unit at the University of Derby College, Buxton, to see if the college could provide SIA licence training.
It could, so the company sent nearly 50 staff on the security guarding course. Each four-day course covered the roles and responsibilities of officers, communication and conflict management, and other skills.
John Goodwin, Contracts Manager for Buxton and High Peak Security Services, said: "We had a very positive experience. The Enterprise Unit at the university provided a lot of advice and our staff achieved a pass rate of over 90 per cent!" Staff from the company were taught in new facilities at Clarendon House, part of the Universityโs new £20m Devonshire Royal Campus.
Buxton and High Peak Security has been appointed to provide security for the Devonshire site, due to open fully to students in September.
