Cable Catalogue

by msecadm4921

Mills Ltd reports that its 2007 cable management and specialist tooling catalogue, as well as being the biggest ever at 192 pages, now includes a new 12-page section on audio visual (AV), CCTV and co-axial products.

Mills adds that it has gathered audio visual products from manufacturers, to extend the Mills one-stop-shop to installers working on structured cabling, fibre and now AV and CCTV installations.

AV racks

The new section includes AV racks designed specifically for the AV industry. Finished in black, the open design gives all round access for rigging during installation and maintenance. With a footprint of 50cm width by 60cm deep, the racks are supplied flat packed in a choice of heights from 21U to 39U. The four uprights are pre-punched to accept caged nuts and a full range of accessories is available including shelves, pillar buffers, fans, blanks and side blanks, and distribution panels. Also included in the new AV section are coaxial cable, connectors and termination kits, BNC connectors and adaptors, a range of baluns and all the popular connecting leads including SVGA, HDMI and phono, in a choice of lengths. There is also a complete range of professional audio/video supports for the mounting of flat panel monitors from ceilings and walls.

New products being added to the tooling and cable management sections include the new Mills Toolbox. Designed with the installer in mind, the new toolbox is constructed using high impact plastic with a heavy duty, bright yellow steel body, the firm reports. A pull out inner tote tray allows for the storage of smaller items and the lid incorporates a stainless steel groove section for supporting pipes or wood during cutting. Also new to the tools section is the ACME staple tacker which has a patented no crush action to prevent signal loss in the cable.

Active Equipment

As a Netgear PowerShift partner Mills also offers a range of switches, routers and wireless products, which can be found in the Active Equipment section of the catalogue. The existing range of Mills testers has been further extended for 2007 with the new Mills FaultCaster Plus, specifically designed for coax testing and measuring. There are also new products for the fibre optic section including the Corning fusion splicers and the Exfo loss test sets, which offer a complete solution for testing multi mode and single mode fibre. The catalogue offers the installer a source of supplies, equipment and tooling backed by next day delivery and a nationwide network of product collection points, according to the company.
