A CCTV camera capable of processing 360 degree images, is among products to be showcased at a product road show by Midlands security firm Security Design Centre Ltd.
The company is specifying the new Eclipse camera, which according to the Halesowen-based firm will transform traditional surveillance operations. When suspended from a ceiling, the fish-eye camera captures a 360 degree panoramic image of its surroundings and separates it into four enhanced segments. Each segment can be controlled individually by joystick to give โvirtual cameraโ views, each with pan, tilt and zoom features.<br><br>The Eclipse system also incorporates video processing that can provide secure area monitoring through automatic motion detection and alarm activation. This operates independently while the camera maintains its full panorama viewing.<br><br>What they say<br><br>SDC Marketing Director Mike Paul says: "In simple terms the new Eclipse camera provides total surveillance on an unprecedented scale. It does the work of four individual cameras and a lot more besides. The motion detection and alarm facility will be particularly beneficial in guarding sensitive areas in large buildings."<br><br>The cameraโs stand-alone design incorporates its own imaging software that eliminates the need for computers or external software, SDC report.
