Talaris has been launched from the former De La Rue Cash Systems Division.
This new identity comes following the completion of its acquisition by The Carlyle Group, the global private equity firm.
Talaris cash handling solutions enable 500 million banknotes to be processed globally every day. Banks, financial institutions and retailers, in over 60 countries, rely on Talaris products. Headquartered in Basingstoke, it has 30 offices in 14 countries, including North America, Spain, Germany, France and the UK.
Tracey Graham, Talaris CEO, said: โWe are delighted to announce the completion of the acquisition by The Carlyle Group and our new identity, Talaris. Talaris is the name given to the winged sandals of the ancient Greek God of Commerce, Hermes. Talaris will emulate his speed, efficiency and agility in delivering the worldโs most comprehensive portfolio of cash handling solutions, technology and services to our valued customers.
โThe Carlyle Groupโs sector expertise, global support and financial acumen will prove invaluable to Talaris as we develop our operations as a standalone business, while maintaining a strong relationship with our former parent, the commercial security printer, De La Rue.โ
Andrew Burgess, Managing Director, The Carlyle Group, said: โAs the demand for cash as a payment method continues to grow globally, so does the demand for products which can support greater quality and efficiency in customer service and security, and help clients respond to regulation. Unique technology, inherent expertise across some 2,300 professionals and a successful management team is the powerful combination that will ensure this is the first phase in the delivery of a dynamic new business.โ
Talaris has been acquired by Carlyle Europe Partners III, The Carlyle Groupโs third European buyout fund, which closed in 2007 with โฌ5.35 billion in commitments.
