CCTV Debate

A highlight of the next Safe Newcastle and Global MSC Security seminar on November 16 is the afternoon debate about CCTV.

Lining up are CCTV users and non-industry sceptics about the use or worth of public space surveillance: Graeme Gerrard, the Cheshire Deputy Chief Constable and ACPO lead on CCTV; academic Dr Peter Fussey of the University of East London; Public CCTV Managers Association vice-chairman Colin Murphy; Garry Parkins, one of the men behind the National CCTV Strategy; Alex Deane of pressure group Big Brother Watch; and Gordon McLanaghan, Bristol City Council CCTV manager. <br><br>Speakers earlier in the day include Jason Piggott of Dallmeier; Vincenzo Roberti of Sicura Systems; Robin Hughes of Avigilon; Brian Kelly of control room software company Bold Communications; Nicola Harget of PMR Products; Nigel Austin of Samsung; and Alastair Walker of Veracity.
