CCTV Meet

by Msecadm4921

Birmingham is the next venue for the Public CCTV Management Association (PCMA) quarterly meeting.

Tuesday, May 20 is the date and the venue is Tally Ho!, the West Midlands Police training centre. Venues to be confirmed for later 2008 are Wednesday, September 17 at Corby and Thursday, December 4 at Bradford.

At that May meeting, PCMA have the following speakers:

Information Commissioner’s Office representative – person yet to be confirmed to discuss data subject access and to hear what’s what on data protection.

Pc David Spreadborough – Cheshire Police. David will be discussing how he has piloted a scheme about mapping every CCTV camera (private and public space) throughout the county. It has had excellent results. The idea being that should an incident occur, there is a central person who can email every owner of a CCTV camera in that area and request they retain the footage for the appropriate times.

Ian Cunningham – NPIA. Ian will be advising the group about the national strategy tasks that have already been put in motion by the ACPO CCTV working group, who’s been tasked with doing them and why those tasks have been chosen first.

For details contact Cath Bannister, Mansfield District Council CCTV Manager.
