International Security & Surveillance has gained certification to ISO 9001 Quality Management System, demonstrating good practice and delivering service to customers.
Established in 1997, Slough-based ISS employs 150 staff, providing security services to clients such as British Airways and the BBC.
Managing Director, Paul Cassie says: “Through our continued and controlled expansion programme we decided to go down a QA route and unknowingly were approached by a non-UKAS certification body and achieved certification after a surprisingly short time – with very little to do – and minimum effort! After looking further into the quality certification process, the general manager, Meirion Isaac recognised that UKAS (Government-approved) certification was vital in today’s security services industry and to be regarded as a quality company, standards must be consistently high and easily recognisable to current and new customers. Therefore in 2004, the ISS team decided that the UKAS route to certification was essential to its business and was indeed the only route they must take.” Meirion adds: “We looked at companies offering consultancy and were very impressed with the support, guidance and personal touch of Global QA Consultants, who specialise in working with security service providers. We chose BSI as our inspection body as we felt this organisation was the most widely recognised third party inspection and we believe they set the highest of standards.”
