Take care with donations intended for charity, wrn Thames Valley Police after a spate of thefts of charity bags containing clothes in Twyford.
A report was received of four men taking bags from outside a property on Springfield Park in Twyford on Friday 20 March.
Collection of these charity bags by anyone other than the authorised agent is a criminal offence.
PC Shaun Buckley, of Loddon Valley police said: โThe company which collects these clothes on behalf of recognised charities clearly bears the โClothes Aidโ logo on their vehicles. Staff carry ID cards and wear a uniform bearing the โClothes Aidโ logo. The same logo is displayed on the charity collection bags.
โI would not want people to be put off donating clothes to charity in this way, but I would ask that if they witness anything suspicious or have any concerns about the people taking these items, please contact police.โ
