Charity Bag Theft

by Msecadm4921

Take care with donations intended for charity, wrn Thames Valley Police after a spate of thefts of charity bags containing clothes in Twyford.

A report was received of four men taking bags from outside a property on Springfield Park in Twyford on Friday 20 March.

Collection of these charity bags by anyone other than the authorised agent is a criminal offence.

PC Shaun Buckley, of Loddon Valley police said: โ€œThe company which collects these clothes on behalf of recognised charities clearly bears the โ€˜Clothes Aidโ€™ logo on their vehicles. Staff carry ID cards and wear a uniform bearing the โ€˜Clothes Aidโ€™ logo. The same logo is displayed on the charity collection bags.

โ€œI would not want people to be put off donating clothes to charity in this way, but I would ask that if they witness anything suspicious or have any concerns about the people taking these items, please contact police.โ€
