The CIPFA Better Governance Forum is holding its sixth annual conference. It’s at the Victory Services Club, central London, on October 15. CIPFA is the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
Speakers invited include Derek Elliott, head of overnance and Counter Fraud Practice, Audit Commission; Bruce Mann, head of the Civil Contingencies Secretariat, at the Cabinet Office; on preparing for emergencies; David Smith, Deputy Information Commissioner, Information Commissioner’s Office, on dealing with personal data. A talk on ethics, fraud and police officers by Peter Tickner, director of Internal Audit, Metropolitan olice Authority, is titled ‘identifying the friendly fraudster’.
Another speaker on the theme of fraud include Dr Bernard Herdan CB, chief executive of the new National Fraud Authority.
