Two night clubs have invested in digital CCTV to ensure the safety and security of customers and staff. From the July print magazine.
The Venue in Torquay and The Arena in Exeter, both owned by Vortex Leisure, each have 39 cameras and six digital video recorders, installed by Certainty Security. The CCTV is to cover all areas of the clubs. The DVRs store every frame of video captured by the cameras when the clubs are open to the public. In addition they provide an output to video monitors to allow security staff in the clubsโ control rooms to monitor and react to any incident. Andrew Marchant, Certainty Securityโs Managing Director said: โOur understanding of the requirements of licensed night clubs meant we knew exactly the specification of equipment that Vortex Leisure required. We set about selecting the โbest of breedโ for each component part of the CCTV systems by sourcing the equipment from a number of different manufacturers. This allowed us to obtain the best possible value for Vortex Leisure.โ
What they say
Neil Carpenter, Technical Manager for Vortex Leisure said: โThe safety as well as enjoyment of everyone that visits our venues is paramount. We chose to work with Certainty Security on these projects because of their previous track record of installing security systems within our market sector as well as their clear understanding as to what is important to our business. We are in no doubt that these sophisticated CCTV systems will be an extremely valuable tool to allow us to observe and quickly react to any potential incident.โ
