A range of coloured ?hands free? cards has been unveiled by Bewator Cotag. The new coloured 928 cards come in vibrant green, blue, purple, red and transparent – but all have a degree of translucency making the chip, coils and battery visible. Based on the same specification as the Cotag 928 card, all are field programmable/reprogrammable, robust, reliable and offer superior read-range performance, the manufacturer reports. The active technology cards utilise an onboard battery to boost the card read range. When used with Bewator Cotag?s hand free readers, a typical read range of one metre is achievable, the makers say. With a manufacturer?s battery life guarantee of five years, true ?hands free? is not only a practical alternative to standard proximity, but in practice highly desirable amongst its users, says Bewator Cotag Product Marketing Manager, Simon Wood.
