As public sector budget cuts begin to bite into services, never has there been a better time to look at sharing good practice among community safety practitioners in the UK. So say organisers of the NCSN (National Community Safety Conference) 2011 in Manchester. It aims to bring together people from all over the world with a common interest in promoting safer communities.
It’s running at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate on June 7 and 8. This yearโs event recognises the need for public sector organisations to demonstrate wise spending. The programme we have put together offers maximum value for money by providing the opportunity to hear from a Minister, Home Office, academics, practitioners and police. On the first day of conference the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, Peter Fahy, and a representative of the Crime Directorate from the Home Office will be speaking, while the second day will see the Minister for Crime Prevention, James Brokenshire, address conference.
