MASS Systems is holding a conference aimed at helping organisations to comply with a range of legislative issues through the effective use of technology.
The conference, titled "The Science of Compliance" will be on Thursday June 23,at the London Chamber of Commerce, from 10am to 4.30pm.
"This year will be a significant time for those who are directly responsible for managing buildings and premises. Facilities Managers will need to start planning ahead as the new Fire Safety Regulations – the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2004 is expected to come into force by the Autumn and will apply to the vast majority of premises", says Wendy Lloyd, Marketing Co-ordinator, MASS Systems.
This conference will update delegates on the changes introduced under Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA), and will discuss the likely impact of the new Disability Bill which is expected to come into force in 2006. There will be a number of amendments to the legislation that facilities managers need to be aware of, the firm says.
The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR) 2002 came into force in May 2004. Many businesses have taken action but there are still businesses failing to work within the new regulations and are risking personal and corporate prosecution by failing to comply, the firm says.
Wendy Lloyd adds: "This event will bring delegates up to date with the latest regulations and best practice and will demonstrate how technology can help them comply with legislation as well as the dangers of non-compliance in areas such as Fire Safety, DDA and Asbestos".
