Concierge Doors

by Msecadm4921

Baydale Control Systems Ltd was awarded a £290,000 contract by Blackpool Borough Council to supply a concierge door entry security system at Queens Park Estate in Blackpool.

Based in Newton Aycliffe in the North East of England, Baydale Control, makes and installs electronic security systems.

Neil Pentland, Managing Director of Baydale Control Systems said: "We are confident that our security systems will stand the test of time. The system being installed at Queens Park Estate uses the very latest technology and the highest quality parts available." The security system puts Blackpool council in control of the estate of 500 homes, which includes five tower blocks and12 maisonettes, from a specially designed monitoring room. Operators at the monitoring room will have the ability to manually override the locks in the event of a fire. The system will also have a fail safe facility to enable the doors to be locked should an unlikely system failure occur.

Each of the five tower blocks at Queens Park will be fitted with a dedicated concierge door entry panel incorporating a dedicated token access reader. The access reader will therefore only allow those people with the right tokens to access their particular building. The contract comes as a number of councils across the UK have asked Baydale Controls to improve the security of their housing estates, the installers report. For example, Baydale Control have just completed a similar contract for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council valued at £500,000, to update the security system for one of its housing developments.
