Tunstall, personal and home alarm firm, has made two acquisitions, in Europe.
In France, Tunstall has acquired Biotel, a manufacturer and supplier of social alarms. Based in Paris, Biotel supports national service providers, says Tunstall.
In Spain the company has acquired the sales and service network of ESES, a distributor of assistive technologies, to form the subsidiary, Tunstall Ibérica. Rapid social and economic change in Spain has presented significant challenges to the Government resulting in the implementation of an extensive care programme to respond to care needs, making Spain one of the fastest growing markets in Europe, it is claimed.
"The acquisition of Biotel and the Teleassistance business of ESES represents great progress in Tunstall’s international growth," said Tony Rice, Chief Executive of the Tunstall Group. "Both the French and Spanish markets are expanding considerably due to public sector commitment and increasing interest from the private sector.
