Strathclyde Police is warning members of the public to be on their guard as counterfeit cash is being used to buy goods.
Officers in the north of Glasgow have received complaints from members of public who have offered high value mobile phones and laptop computers for sale on Ad Trader and internet site GumTree. A female arrives at their home and offers to buy their goods. Once the female has left with the items, the sellers have become aware that the cash handed over are mainly counterfeit Royal Bank of Scotland £20 notes with a few real bank notes added in.
