CCTV at the Royal and Sun Alliance County Ground Bristol.
The Royal and Sun Alliance County Ground Bristol not only hosts Gloucestershire county cricket – and last summer a one-day international – but acts as a general sports centre. Hence the CCTV system installed by Blick UK is to provide both spectator safety on match days and premises security at all times. Peter Hall, Ground Operations Manager for the club, says: ?First and foremost, CCTV is a deterrent. People can see it and the highly visible warning signs and this is often enough to deter any undesirable behaviour. However, if there is, we can monitor and record it and use it as evidential information. That information can also be shared with other relevant organisations such as other cricket grounds and the police.? The six-camera system has a ZMX CT10 multiplexer from manufacturer Baxall, supplied with both joystick and keyboard, to display CCTV images on three monitors – two in the control room and one in reception. On match days, operators are brought in; at other times, the system is monitored by the ground operations manager and from reception.
