Consultancy Control Risks Group reports the appointment of Tom Carver, former BBC Washington DC Correspondent, and Art Brown, former CIA East Asian Division Chief, to form a new Strategic Solutions Group in North America.
The Strategic Solutions Group, headed by Tom, has been set up to advise multi-national companies on the implications of international strategic, political and security issues on their businesses. They will be looking at factors ranging from major political upheavals through to local legislative process, from reputational concerns to local and international security threats, the consultancy says.

Tom Carver, Senior Vice President
For the last seven years, Tom Carver has been one of the BBC’s senior Washington DC Correspondent, reporting on America for BBC’s “Newsnight” program. Tom previously served as the BBC’s Africa Correspondent and Defence Correspondent. In his career as a foreign reporter, Tom covered 10 wars and reported from every continent.
Art Brown, Senior Vice President
Art Brown is the former Chief of the East Asia Division within the Clandestine Service of the Central Intelligence Agency. In this role he personally advised President George W Bush and routinely testified in closed-door sessions before Congressional committees on national security, and economic and regional stability issues in Asia.
