Crime Council

by Msecadm4921

The Association of Business Crime Partnerships (ABCP) has created a partnership council to better represent the views of member partnerships across the country. There are eight groups – North West, Wales, South West, Sussex, Kent, South Midlands, London and Yorkshire….

Chairmen of those groups will meet with Richard Barron and Mike Schuck regularly to discuss issues and help agree how and where the organisation should go.

The first meeting was held in the House of Lords and was introduced by the chairman of ABCP, Lord Dear, who welcomed members of the group and expressed his pleasure in the development of the council as a further means of getting a feel for the views of members.

Richard Barron, chief executive of ABCP said: ‘This is a development we have been working on for some time and I am really delighted that we now have a better mechanism for consulting members and taking thier views into account as ABCP goes forward. Mike Schuck and I will still attend the meetings that the regional groups hold in their areas as we feel this adds another dimension in being able to communicate with members and them with us.’

A number of topics were discussed at the inaugural meeting including the council terms of reference, which were agreed as to:

* Act as a point of contact between the main board and partnerships within their region/county
* Promote polices for consideration by the main board
* Ensure that membersโ€šร„รด views are represented
* Encourage partnerships to become ABCP members
* Promote the value and importance of ABCP as the national partnership organisation
* Have a key role in supporting the delivery of the ABCP Business Plan
* Add value to, and influence, strategic decision making
* Improve and inform better two way communication between ABCP and its members; and
* Ensure that membersโ€šร„รด views are effectively represented.

The council elected Lisa Perretta, chair of the Sussex partnership group as their chairman, with Steve Booth, chairman of the North West group as deputy.
