Crime-report line charity Crimestoppers has seen a 32 per cent increase which equates to 2027 more people arrested and charged as a result of information given to the charity over the last three years.
The charity adds that this highlights a year on year increase and demonstrates that the quality of information received from the public along with the charityโs dedicated 24/7 contact bureau is achieving consistently high results.
The charity have just released their latest end of year figures. These highlight a ten per cent increase in the number of people arrested and charged as a result of information passed to Crimestoppers during April 2010 to March 2011.
Deputy Chief Executive, Dave Cording, pictured, said: โTo achieve a 32 per cent increase in the number of people arrested and charged is a fantastic result. These statistics show that the quality of information weโve received and processed at our dedicated call bureau has been consistently high as many more individuals have been arrested and charged due to the information received.
โThe figures also show that 23 people are arrested and charged every day as a result of Crimestoppers information and one person every seven days is charged with murder as a result of information passed to the charity.
