Crimex 21 Date

Crimex 21 East Midlands 2005 – an exhibition aimed at businesses and crime prevention people – has moved to a bigger venue – Leicester City Football Club’s Walkers Stadium on Wednesday June 29.

The exhibition provides businesses, say organisers, with a ‘one stop shop’ venue where organisations can assess their current security arrangements and evaluate the products and services on show, helping them to improve the level of protection for their employees and assets. It combines the best elements of a traditional exhibition with friendly, approachable experts available to provide advice and product demonstrations, it is claimed.

A number of national and local companies will be displaying security measures – from basic bolts to computer security systems. This is the third event of its kind to be held in Leicestershire, with the number of exhibitors and visitors increasing year on year.

What they say

PC Brian Voss, Crime Reduction Officer for Leicestershire Constabulary, said: "The region has many ongoing initiatives to aid crime reduction and many areas are being transformed with wonderful new developments and public spaces through regeneration. Business is truly thriving here in our region. We cannot however, become complacent and we must continually challenge whether we are protecting ourselves, our colleagues and our customers. We all need to fight crime together and create a safer environment in which people can live, work and develop without fear of becoming a victim. This event will provide the opportunity to see the very latest security systems and equipment, and also gain advice from security professionals and police officers."

Andrew Hallam, Managing Director of Leicester company Premier Security Services, said: "We are building on the success of the previous two exhibitions. This event is invaluable to businesses and organisations who are perhaps looking to review and improve their security practices and procedures. Exhibitors will cover a wide range of issues, including lone worker monitoring, distribution of goods, external theft, fraud, vandalism and asset tracking. As well as the business community, we are hoping to attract home owners and those responsible for security at other non-domestic premises, such as schools and colleges. I’d urge you to pay a visit to this year’s event. It won’t cost you anything, but it could prove financially and personally beneficial in the longer term."

The exhibition has been made possible thanks to partnership working between Leicestershire Police, Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce, Business Link, and security companies, Premier Security Services, Secure One, Farsight and ADT. Support has also been received from Leicester City Football Club and local company Eazytiger. The event will run from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free.
