Turnstiles were part of the HID Global’s RFID and Smartcard stand at IFSEC.
HID brought a variety of sectors to demonstrate the latest technology working with Smartcards and RFID. Fastlane Glassgate speedgates turnstiles from Integrated Design were the entrance control solution.
Billed as ‘a day in the life of a smartcard’ the stand was a showcase of applications of smartcards, from access control, time and attendance to cashless vending. Visitors could see demonstrations of the technology available, from companies such as Nexus, iTRAK, Privaris and ITS, working with iClass 13.56 mhz contactless smartcards from HID. To get into the demo area visitors had to navigate through the gates at the entrance (and exit). The HID readers were custom mounting into the frosted reader window, telling users where to present their card. Once the card had been presented (and approved) the bi-directional swinging glass barriers opened in a ‘door-like’ motion allowing visitors to enter the inner stand.
