Dennard Changes

by Msecadm4921

Dedicated Micros has unveiled a number of changes to the way it delivers its Dennard range of camera housings and accessories.

From December 1, it is planned that Dennard standard housing products such as the 2010 will come in a modularized format rather than pre-assembled. This is designed, DM reports, to give customers a wider choice of configurations and offer the flexibility to add features to existing products so CCTV installations can be adapted to cope with changing demands.

Another development from January 2006 will see all Dennard products manufactured in aluminium come with an Alochrome pre-paint treatment as standard, at no extra cost, the firm adds. This removes the need for a Marine Finish on products exposed to salt laden environments. It is also planned to withdraw all non-standard paint options so all Dennard products will be supplied with a standard ash grey finish.

What they say

Said Chris Boyce, Commercial Director, Dedicated Micros: “Following an in-depth review of the existing Dennard product portfolio, we believe that the changes we are implementing demonstrate our continued commitment to provide maximum value for customers and will greatly simplify the specification and ordering process for our Dennard range.”

As part of this process of product rationalisation a number of older Dennard lines are to be discontinued. The items affected include: 554 dome, 556 dome, 517 housing, deep base housing options, fully assembled housings, ventilated sunshields and external fans for housings, washer float switches, autopan for pan and tilt, side platform for pan and tilt, non-standard paint options and marine finish. Warranty on all affected parts purchased before November 30 will be honoured and Dedicated Micros adds that it is to continue to carry spares for two years after the product withdrawal date.
