Sensormatic have released an external digital video storage system that doubles the storage capabilities of its Intellex Digital Video Management System. Containing 320GB of hard disk space, the new Extended Storage Module records an additional 30 to 45 days of digital video data, giving customers a cost effective way to expand their existing Intellex v.2.x units without the need to purchase an entirely new system. Intellex, an intelligent digital video management system, can record and instantly retrieve digital images from up to 16 video surveillance cameras, the manufacturer says. With its Smart Search capabilities, Intellex can play back selected events based on preprogrammed criteria within seconds, saving the time of searching manually through videotapes such as with traditional VCRs. Intellex also features an advanced compression algorithm that reduces the file size of video data by 20 per cent to 50 per cent, enabling users to record more video without any discernible loss in image quality. The Extended Storage Module is available in both rack mount and desktop configurations and is available globally.
