Role description:<br><br>This role is part of Group Security but will be seconded to the Olympics Team until the conclusion of the Olympics and Paralympics. The primary objective is the global promotion of brand, no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the environment by ensuring that the clients Olympic-related activities remains secure and operationally resilient. <br><br>This will be accomplished by the delivery of safe and secure participation in the Games in keeping with the Olympic culture and spirit; to ensure no damage to reputation; to address all matters of security, crisis management & business continuity; to monitor threats & to respond to a major incident; to co-ordinate activities in affected businesses & functions to minimise impact on business operations; to raise awareness of the need for resilience in business-as-usual operations during the period of the Games and to document and promote lessons-learnt for the benefit of future events.<br><br>To lead and co-ordinate multi-site business and functional units to provide an integrated, multi-agency intelligence-led solution with critical reputational impact. Provide leadership, guidance and advice across the security, crisis and continuity management and digital security disciplines a comprehensive service, which identifies risks, makes threat assessments, conducts security risk management and delivers strong, proportionate and auditable solutions to a major sporting occasion in a challenging security environment. To co-ordinate an operational, cultural, corporate hospitality, crisis and integrated digital security solution to provide protection to all people, assets and facilities relating to the Olympic delivery. <br><br>This position will be based in the southern Home Counties, UK, and will report to the Director of Olympics and indirectly to the Group Director of Security. Upon conclusion of the shutdown after the Paralympics, it is anticipated that the incumbent will move to a role in Group Security. <br><br>Roles and responsibilities:<br><br>Support the Olympic Director in the delivery of Group-wide security solutions with global reputational impact. In particular:<br><br>•Design and implement a strategy for the management of security, crisis management and business continuity risks related to extensive involvement and investment in London 2012<br>•Design and manage the operational a programme of activities to support the implementation of the strategy<br>•Define, source and manage the necessary specialist capability to deliver the programme<br>•Represent the company in a variety of external working groups led by Government and Industry security associations (London First, LOCOG, Met Police, CPNI)<br>•Business Security Risk Assessments and associated programmes<br>•Strategic reviews of security services and client needs<br>•Providing an interface with LOCOG and other security and policing agencies<br>•Crisis action/emergency and business continuity activities<br>•Developing an integrated IT and communications architecture across all stakeholders<br>•Corporate hospitality and executive protection planning and implementation where necessary.<br><br>Principal tasks:<br><br>•Develop and deliver the Olympic Security, Crisis and Digital Security Plan, Incident Management Plan, Business Support Plan<br>•Enhance and focus the current intelligence capability and develop a common information picture<br>•Establish and run an Olympic security and control centre with fallback 3 x locations<br>•Manage a contracted security team to provide an integrated security response leading up to and throughout the Games. Responsibilities will include CP, transportation, events and hotel security <br>•Liaise regionally and nationally with Internal Audit, HSE, and other service providers on areas of shared risk<br>•Review and resource capability gaps across the security, crisis and digital security areas of responsibility and, where required, provide training<br>•Identify, develop and resource existing crisis and continuity facilities <br>•Provide exercise and training for all staff involved in the Olympic Games<br>Liaise extensively with external authorities such as the Police, Military and other government and law enforcement agencies, to enhance and ensure delivery options<br>•Enhance the current travel tracking capability.<br><br>Experience:<br>It is anticipated that the candidate will have held a senior managerial position within the Police, Military, Security Services, or other law enforcement agencies, or have a career history as a professional security manager operating at a senior level. You will have received comprehensive management training, ideally in an industrial security environment and possess strong ability to interact and communicate effectively with executive management, business clients, colleagues and external parties.<br><br>The candidate will be highly self-motivated, capable of working on his/her own initiative and leading and inspiring others to deliver.<br>Ideally a graduate/Professional level preferably in a security related discipline, the candidate will have a very high level of communication and management skills and membership of recognised industry associations preferred but not essential (ISMA, ASIS, TSI, MISEC etc)<br><br>Contact James Butler on jbutler@ssr-personnel.com or +44 208 626 3112 for more information.
